QUESTION 15- How can a PMS assist with the up-skilling and development of an employee?


PMS assist with the up-skilling and development of an employee by:

  • Helping to detect shortage of skills and knowledge of employees: During the PMS exercise the Performance evaluator will be able to detect if an employee have a shortage of skills his job.
  • Helping to boost employee performance and the productivity of the company. Regular Feedback and performance appraisal meeting helps the employees to improve in his job.

  • Determining if an employee need a specific training to improve his performance: PMS helps also to determining if an employee is not performing well in a specific field in the job and if he need training in this field like example, computer training..etc.
  • Providing honest feedback regarding the employee’s skills: During PMS exercise Feedback is very important from both sides will be helping the employees to improve their performance at work.
  • Suggesting resources to assist in reaching the goals and objectives: During PMS employees can give feedback of what kind of resources they need so that they can improve their work.
  • Helping the employee to proactive and work independently and inspire others to do their best.
